PHILIP GIBBS

Presenting Philip Gibbs' new studio release, The Petroleum Age. The Austin native traces his roots in the Central Texas back to the 1870s when his uncle Barnett Gibbs first moved to the area as a state senator from Dallas, later becoming Lt. Governor and acting Governor in the 1880s. This album is as much a look at the history of Texas as a musing about how the future will regard the present.
'Stephen F. Austin's Blues' just knocked me flat. That's great writing.
